My aim is to create artworks that are calming, organic and visually beautiful predominantly using resins and acrylics on canvas. My goal is to create art for real people to go into real homes that are a visual feast for the eyes and will be enjoyed for generations to come.
My paintings are usually a direct reflection of my experiences and I usually begin with a photo or picture that resonates with a memory that I may have of the time or the place that has inspired the final product.
Having been diagnosed with chronic fatigue towards the end of 2015 I was forced to leave my job in the business world and concentrate on regaining my health. I found that during the days I needed to feel productive and this was my opportunity to reinvent myself.
Having enjoyed art at school and dabbled in lots of crafts over the years including patchwork, drawing and card making it was now time to really enjoy and experiment with lots of different mediums and processes. I have been practicing different techniques with the resins, honing my skills in acrylics and trying my hand at sketches and watercolors.
I have completely fallen in love with resins and find the fluidity and organic nature of the resin to be mesmerizing. I try to let each painting evolve intuitively as I build each layer of paint.
