This piece was inspired by my new love for spray painting on canvas and wanting to further explore mixing my mediums and layering them over each other. My first 4 layers of this painting were a combination of oil pastels and acrylic paints. I followed this with two layers of spray paints and then a layer of ink pens. I enjoyed distorting and playing around with shapes and linework that make up the facial features. Lots of organic linework is used in the piece to create a flow and sense of movement and activity in the painting.

I'm a self taught painter from Melbourne who loves to explore with colour and shapes. I love creating paintings with mixed mediums which include acrylic paints, spray paints, oil pastels and fine line pens and inks. I enjoy creating pieces that can be interpreted differently to the individual and have a love of abstract, surrealist and cubist artworks. My artwork is produced by creating layers of different mediums to showcase the depth of different shapes and objects while using a vibrant array of colours.
