Artwork Description

Walking my little black dog daily around the beautiful park and wetlands near my house is a wonderful way to keep the other black dog at bay. It mostly works.
I call these black and white works my 'doodles'. Most of my printmaking and illustration work is meticulously planned and tightly controlled. These large scale drawings are a breather from all that. I start with a loose idea and plan very little, letting the drawing grow and evolve. This one was actually only intended to be around A4, but just kept growing ... I get a great deal of pleasure out of creating them, and hope that enjoyment comes through to the viewer. People have told me that they can come back to these drawings time and again, and discover something new each time.
