I am a Melbourne based non-professional artist and I have been painting in oils from a very young age since my grandfather - a WWI veteran - introduced me to them. I love the feel of oil paint and the way it moves, blends and forgives. I am only interested in painting figuratively and only then when a particular subject inspires me with some kind of emotional hook. I use photos a lot and the photos I take are often 'slice of life' pictures - groups or individuals engaged in ordinary life or 'still life' arrangements that are found in situ in the world. I am learning more with every painting. Thank you for looking at my page.
