I started painting clouds in the days after our Covid wedding in March 2020. Due to the restrictions, my husband and I got married just the two us with out dog Bodhi by our sides. On the day and in the weeks that followed I looked to the sky to feel connected to our family.
'Her Sky' was the final painting I did in my home studio before converting it into my daughters Nursery. I was heavily pregnant and had her name, which was known to only Jim and I, was painted across my swollen belly. This was my love note to our daughter Chloe; a hope for a bright and happy future and a reminder that she is always connected to family.
This painting was spontaneous and painted with great energy. I rejected the paint brushes, choosing instead to paint with my fingers and hands. On the back of the canvas I proudly signed the canvas 'Chloe's Sky'.
This is a diptych made up of two canvases, each canvas is 73X101cm.
