Salme is an Iranian-Australian actor and emerging artist based in Melbourne. Her family moved to Australia from Tehran when she was four years old, and she grew up on the Central Coast, NSW. She was studying Biotechnology at the University of Newcastle, but left the course to pursue performing arts at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art (AADA) in Sydney. Since graduating, Salme has worked in Sydney, Melbourne, LA, Kalgoorlie and Albany.
Art has always been a passion for Salme, but it wasn’t until late 2023 when she decided to take the plunge and pursue it as a career. She has since found it a profoundly fulfilling endeavor alongside her acting.
Salme’s passion for animals and animal rights inspires her work, with a primary focus on threatened species. She works mainly with acrylic paint and her style has shifted from realistic drawings and paintings to her current colourful, bold and minimalist style, which continues to evolve.
