Sunset Coast evokes a suspended moment at the threshold between sea and sky, where light becomes liquid and the boundary between real and imagined dissolves. This piece is inspired by the coloristic poetry of J.M.W. Turner, the spatial harmony of Claude Lorrain, and the contemporary atmospheric abstraction of Peter Doig. The headland is a shadowed anchor to a composition otherwise saturated with warm pastel hues and ethereal reflections. A study in calm and movement, the painting captures the ephemeral alchemy of light, water, and time.

Artist Bio
“My name is Samuel Brett, I was born in Melbourne/Australia in 1995. My first experiences as an artist was when I was just a toddler I’ve always had a passion for drawing and painting and I grew to love Traditional Realism once I started taking classes in Peninsula Art Society when I was 10 years old.
It was here that I realized that I wanted to pursue my career in this field.
My influences were Diego Velazques, Edward Hopper, Rembrandt, Casper David Friedrich, Caravaggio
I went on to study for my Diploma where I earned my qualifications in Visual Arts.
It was here that I further expanded on my knowledge in working with Oil Paints, Charcoal and Graphite where I found my passion for painting cityscapes, landscapes and Portraiture.
I work primarily in Oil paints and I currently work from nature and street Scenes so I can capture a sense of realism to the viewer.
