This artwork is the 1st in a series called The Brand New Worthless, it is an exploration into consumer culture and branding. Im fascinated and frustrated by Supreme, they have become a pop culture giant and are a huge part of the contemporary fashion world. It puzzles me that a red logo with white Futura Bold Italic font could suddenly become such an icon....its literally a font on microsoft word....and somehow adding it to things makes the prices ten times its original value. Take this op shop painting, bought for 3 dollars, i wonder how much i can sell it for? lets find out.
