Bosko the Bush Kangaroo (M)

I live in Western Sydney, I love it here, one of the things that i find so intriguing about this place is the intersection of different lifestyles, fashions and cultures, between city and country. There's a beautiful and at times humorous clash between these ways of life, you can find the poster boy for R.M Williams sitting across from a walking advertisement for Nike TN's and Geedup...both eating a burger and fries at the local cafe. I wanted to capture that intersection between city and country, and iconic Australian animal, and some cheeky graff writer have birthed a character I now call BOSKO the Bush Kangaroo.

I love this weird place called Western Sydney, and I hope I see Bosko soon.

I find that my art enables me to express elements of my world that can't necessarily be seen by the naked eye, its an attempt at conveying something a bit intangible. Abstraction is the primary way I communicate my ideas and experiences in art.
The naive and somewhat primitive lines, shapes, colours and textures I use are my attempt at capturing the atmosphere, personality or feeling of a place or person I have encountered in my life, realism or a photograph in my opinion doesn't always capture these elements of the world.
I feel that my art brings these to the surface...it shows the soul of something, somewhere, or someone. Perhaps you will see someone you know within my strange works, maybe even yourself.
