Artwork Description

I've grown weirdly fond of looking at the little places on the side of the highway on road trips and long drives. I take little mental notes on what I see, both good things and bad things.
Sometimes it's a Dam, a bird, or a burrow, other times a bottle or car part. I often think about how these factors interact with each other, the way the environment attempts to embrace the garbage left on accident or by thoughtless people. It's a sort of tragic Australian nostalgia or twisted balance between human impact and nature, there's something stereotypically Aussie seeing local wildlife and an old bottle of coopers or a hub cap in the bush.
It is beautiful in a sad sort of way...humans will leave footprints and evidence of their existence, as they should...but maybe the environment should look a little better though don't you think?

Artist Bio

I find that my art enables me to express elements of my world that can't necessarily be seen by the naked eye, its an attempt at conveying something a bit intangible. Abstraction is the primary way I communicate my ideas and experiences in art.
The naive and somewhat primitive lines, shapes, colours and textures I use are my attempt at capturing the atmosphere, personality or feeling of a place or person I have encountered in my life, realism or a photograph in my opinion doesn't always capture these elements of the world.
I feel that my art brings these to the surface...it shows the soul of something, somewhere, or someone. Perhaps you will see someone you know within my strange works, maybe even yourself.
