This is an observation of human behaviour. Its odd to see our survival instincts come out against a threat we cannot easily defend, we become hyper conscious of our actions, the placement of our hands, our proximity to others and the surfaces we touch. This depiction is based on the behaviour of my partner, her body language and gestures whilst in a shopping centre. I found her behaviour interesting, her movements were quick and considered in the attempt to remain a reasonable distance from others but her hands intrigued me the most, the gesture resembled something between a boxer ready to attack and defend herself, and a person hiding behind an invisible blanket ready to pull it up and hide behind it. Perhaps this is the way people react to a threat they cannot see or adequately anticipate, i wonder how we will act when this is over? Will our behaviour remain modified? Or will we be more appreciative of the freedom to bump into one another accidentally, to offer a handshake without the after thought of the risk we may have posed to one another?
