I've defaced another op shop artwork. This preframed embroidery artwork appealed to me because i found it quite repulsive, so naturally i made it more repulsive. The colours were boring and I'm not a big fan of embroidered stuff, the only redeeming feature of it for me was the subject matter of the couple in the fore ground. I played on the idea of the two lovers being infatuated with each other. Within their fields of vision their view is different to the surrounding areas in the painting, this represents the idea of new love being a beautiful escape from the harsh realities of life, we all crave it in our own ways and its beautiful, abstract, colourful and wonderful.
