I was born in Brisbane and after leaving high school, I searched for some kind of artistic career. My first challenge was designing neon signs- a possible influence on the brightness and rich colours in my later paintings. I also worked as an architectural model maker and interior designer. After moving to Sydney I continued with neon sign designing and then took up lessons in landscape and portraiture. Taking painting trips with a group of established artists including my teacher, Allan Fizell. My portrait teachers were Joshua Smith and Yve Close. I paint with a love of light and colour, but added to that, there is a deep appreciation for the intrinsic beauty of the Australian landscape. Travelling extensively throughout Australia painting plein-air, often taking tea with the cows in the paddock after a day’s painting. I have painted in many other countries Bali, France and Bordeaux and Cinque Terra in Italy and Venice. In 1995 I was invited to exhibit eight of my works at the trade fair in Dubai. A recipient of numerous and impressive awards, with representation in the Municipal Collection, as well as private and corporate collections here and around the world. I have also judged local and interstate exhibitions and am an exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society of NSW.
