Sam Lucas won The Geelong College Art and Design Prize in 1995, was represented in TOPCATS Victoria. Studied Degree in Fine Art at Monash University Melbourne in 1996.
Traveled extensively from 2001, living working and studying in London for 5 years. Gaining experience in Somerset House, The Saatchi Gallery and The Tate Modern in London. I particularly enjoyed the baldness of the Abstract Expressionist period of the 1950's. More recently living and working in the tropical region of the Northern Rivers has influenced my work, a diverse range in natural colours and tones is a well of inspiration. It's exciting to explore relationships between shapes, techniques and colours with a twist.
