Darkness is lonelier than the stars

Inspired by the brave women and men on the streets of different cities in Iran, risking their lives to
express themselves with performance art on the streets. The name is derived from a poem called
“Fresh Air” by Ahamad Shamlou, a contemporary Iranian poet.

Saman is a Melbourne-based artist who uses a variety of visual art mediums to interpret and express his perceptions of the human environment. His sophisticated academic drawing skills allow him to freely experiment with different artistic forms and styles in his journey to develop personal expression.
Saman has featured his artworks in group exhibitions in Melbourne over the last four years. He was shortlisted for the Norma Bull Portrait Scholarship 2024.
