The 'Major Mitchell's' Cockatoo is part of the Cockatoo family, creatures who are extremely social.

Upon further research, it's intriguing to know that Cockatoos represent illumination – a guide through darkness; they speak of commitment to partnerships and to the importance of the safety of one’s group; and they represent comedic relief with the spark that mischief and curiosity bring to life!

No doubt this mixed media work on gallery stretched canvas will bring an air of celebration and life to any room.

I am Samantha! An artist based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia! Wife and mum to three sons.

From a young age, I have always appreciated the beauty in things, whether that beauty was clearly evident or perhaps more subtle. My creativity through the years has often been expressed through craft, exploring with acrylics on canvas and various other artworks.

I am passionate about creating pieces that inspire and bring light into the world. I do so "not to portray, but to evoke": to evoke joy in the midst of sorrow, hope in the midst of hopelessness and love in a world filled with hatred.
