Ocean Veins

Layers of cobalt, turquoise, silver and white flow together in an intricate dance, highlighted with luminous gold accents that catch the light. Hello, I’m Sam. I’m an Adelaide based Artist working with Fluid acrylic paints. Much of my art is inspired by what I see through my camera lens.

Coastal Inspiration
My work is a tribute to the rhythm of the ocean. Living by the coast, I am a daily witness to the shifting tides and the transformative power of light. My creative practice is a dialogue between two worlds: the literal moment captured in my landscape photography and the rhythmic energy of abstract fluid acrylics.
Light & Texture
I am influenced by the intricate textures found in nature—the foam of a breaking wave, the grit of shoreline rocks, and the way light scatters across the land at dusk. My photography serves as an inspiration for these details.
The Process
Using fluid acrylics, I mimic the organic movement of the sea. By layering paint and manipulating surface tension with air and heat, I create "cells" and lacing that echo the natural patterns of the coast. Each piece is a balance of control and spontaneity, designed to capture the atmospheric feeling of days at the beach.
