Hello, I'm Sam Walton, an abstract artist based in the beautiful regional city of Toowoomba, Queensland. Through a celebration of vibrant colour, rich texture, and expressive mark-making, I translate the dynamic energy of the natural world onto the canvas.
As a mother of four, lover of the outdoors and having previously lived in Western Queensland, my work is rooted in a deep connection to nature. This bond is a constant source of inspiration.
My professional journey as an artist officially began in 2016 with the milestone of my first solo exhibition. This artistic path has led to some incredible opportunities to connect with and advocate for my community. In 2020, I was deeply honoured to be named an ABC Heywire Trailblazer for my podcast and work with rural women in business, which gave me the privilege of speaking at Parliament House in Canberra. That same year, I was also recognised as a finalist for the AgriFutures QLD Rural Woman of the Year award.
My studio is more than just a place to paint; it's a hub for creativity and encouragement. I believe art is a powerful tool for connection, and with every piece I create, my goal is to evoke a genuine sense of joy and inspiration in the viewer.
