Post Referendum on a First Nations Voice to Parliament, it is important to consider the ongoing role of allies. Across the eight states and territories we know there were allies who voted and campaigned with us.
As we move forward, we know there is power in solidarity and collective action, where allies stand shoulder to shoulder with First Nations peoples in the fight for our rights, sovereignty, and self-determination.
Ally voices need to amplify First Nations perspectives on the importance of systemic change and institutional accountability. Allies need to advocate for policy reforms and structural changes that address the root causes of inequality and discrimination.
Allies must actively engage in dialogue, share resources, and elevate First Nations voices to foster greater empathy and solidarity. Allies have a responsibility to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and promote understanding among their own communities.
Education is as a powerful tool for dismantling ignorance and prejudice, paving the way for meaningful reconciliation. Where our collective future generations are able to walk together as partners with equal opportunities and respect.
