Health is a fundamental human right but for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people we currently have lower life expectancy than other Australians.
For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, health extends beyond physical health and wellbeing, to include the social, emotional and cultural wellbeing of individuals, families and communities throughout their whole lives.
Health is fundamental to enabling full participation in life, including the ability to fill participate in education, employment and economic activities.
Our health is the key to determining how we can enjoy long and happy lives that are equal to all Australians.
