Education is an important foundation for our children to succeed in life. When they experience strength-based support and high-expectation approaches our children and young people thrive in their education and can reach their full potential.
When speaking to young women across the country who have successfully entered into higher education, they spoke about having a school environment that was culturally safe. It was important for them to feel that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures were valued, respected and visibly present.
This painting represents this successful transition in education by having strong support, high-expectations and feeling safe, valued and respected.
