My intention for creating this painting:
"Intention" was created as a celebration of feminine power, presence, and inner knowing. I wanted to capture the rich complexity and beauty of women’s inner worlds — the way we carry so much, yet still bloom. The vibrant, busy florals on her dress represent that fullness — a life lived deeply, courageously, and in colour. The white dove, wings open and gently perched, is a symbolic nod to choosing peace and love as a foundation for your future intentions. And the flowering branch she carries close to her heart is a quiet message: you can gather the lessons and wisdom of your past and present, and bring them with you — gently and intentionally — as you shape what comes next.

What this painting evokes for me personally, on reflection:
This piece speaks to the quiet but undeniable power of intentional living. She reminds me that we can choose our next steps not from pressure or fear, but from a place of grounded presence. Her soft gaze and strong posture feel like an inner knowing I’ve had to return to many times — the part of me that trusts herself deeply. I created this painting using Matisse Flow. Acrylic paints on Claybord, one thoughtful layer at a time. Finished in Liquitex Matte Satin Professional Varnish to protect from dust and UV.

I wasn’t always an artist. For years, I lived in a world of structure, strategy, and spreadsheets — once a CFO, I knew how to lead and achieve, but deep down, something was missing. I longed to feel more. To create. To be. Painting began as a whisper during a time of great personal change — a calling to reconnect with something forgotten. What started as an act of self-soothing quickly became a lifeline, then a purpose.

Art became my spiritual practice — a way to honour my emotions, access my inner wisdom, and hold space for the parts of me that didn’t always have words. It taught me that creativity isn’t about producing something perfect — it’s about starting a conversation with your soul.

Through colour, symbolism, and feminine energy, I now create work that speaks to the deep and sacred within all women — our intuition, our cycles, our longing to be seen and remembered. And through my Spiritual & Creative Empowerment coaching, I support women to use the creativity in their hearts as a tool for self-healing, inner connection and free expression.
