Part of the Purple Haze series. This Peony Burst original is one of 3 paintings exploring the vibrancy and luminosity of peonies against blues, purples, pinks and whites. The fairly limited colour palette adds sophistication, allowing the flowers to shine with sensual beauty and radiance.

I created using acrylic paints with a variety of techniques, including layering acrylic with a palette knife, using stencils and applying paint with bubble wrap and of course, I also used a good old-fashioned paint brush. This piece was an exploration of textured layers of chaos, each element giving a hint that there is energy, growth and depth in this simple scene surrounding these glorious blooms, in a romantic and beautiful way.

The edges of this thick edge canvas are painted in a luxurious metallic gold. Uplifting and enhancing the artwork. There is no need to frame this painting. It is ready to hang.
