Artwork Description

This painting is inspired by written conversations that take place on social media and in the virtual world. It captures the uncertain and unclear emotions that arise when interacting with an unknown person or a chance encounter online. The work raises the question of whether we are talking to a real person or just a chatbot, evoking feelings of naivety and deception. It explores the blurred line between real human connection and artificial interaction.

Artist Bio

I’m Samira Khadivizand, an Iranian-Australian artist. Painting has always been the core of my practice. As a multidisciplinary artist, I blend painting with forms and meanings shaped by cultural and social influences, often reflecting both personal and collective experiences through an abstract and poetic visual language.
