This painting depicts a girl at a distance from her loved ones, connected to them through the frame of her mobile phone. She shares the excitement of receiving a new pearl necklace, yet the work reflects how genuine emotions cannot be fully transmitted through a virtual connection. While the bright and vivid image on the phone successfully conveys the visual quality and shine of the pearls, the deeper emotional experience behind the moment remains partially lost.
Based on my personal experience of living far from my loved ones, the painting reflects the difficulty of truly expressing emotions through digital communication. In this work, I translate that tension into an abstract composition, allowing the emotional gap between presence and distance to be interpreted by the viewer.
