My practice explores notions around enigmatic narratives, the works are intended to instigate notions of isolation, wonder and melancholy. The images are painted using the traditional oil painting principles, the subject matter often contains motifs of white-collared figures, synthetic fabrics, folds and drapes. Combining this traditional element in painting with a saturated dark pastel palette creates a vaguely dreamy quality to the scene.
I was born in Melbourne, Australia and grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand. Graduated from Massey University BFA Hons in 2017 and have been a practising artist since, honing and developing my understanding of the medium oil paint.
