Sandraโs work, in water colours and oils, which until moving to the Capricorn Coast in 1994 from the Northern Territory depicted mainly the bush, and the creatures and people in it, predominantly featuring burnt sienna and violet, the colours of the Australian bush, as she reflected her natural surroundings.
She began painting seriously in 1989, and the finesse of her purely natural technique has developed from her personal exploration of the art of watercolour, although she has enjoyed experimenting with other mediums.
After moving to the coast, adapting her palette from the warm colours of the outback to the cool colours of her new environment was an exciting challenge, resulting in a major change in commission subjects, coastal scenes, boats and sea birds, to add to her
repertoire of people, horses, cattle, dogs & wildlife. Her passion is expressionism, and giving movement and life to her art forms.
