Artwork Description

As part of my emotion series, this square oil painting portrait delves into the intense emotion of frustration, capturing a woman yelling in anguish. When frustration reaches a critical point and a yell or scream becomes necessary, it can feel overwhelming, as if one has lost control. Nevertheless, the release of noise can be a cathartic experience, enabling one to move forward. My objective is to create artwork that allows viewers to see themselves in the piece and recognize that, despite experiencing intense emotions, it is possible to transcend them and cultivate a fulfilling existence. Through the use of texture and thick brushstrokes, I aim to convey the emotions and feelings that we all encounter at times. This recent series of portraits marks a new direction in my artistic journey, one that I am enthusiastic about exploring. Having recently resumed oil painting, I am captivated by its unique blending capabilities, making it an ideal medium for the portraits I aim to create. I am committed to using only top-quality oil and acrylic paints in my work. All my paintings are signed, ready to hang, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Each piece is carefully varnished and packaged with attention and care.

Artist Bio

Sandra has been painting since the age of 11, when she started painting classes after school. It was a love affair that has lasted for over 30 years. After concentrating on art and photography in high school, she then went on to study Art & Design for 5 years, earning an Advanced Certificate of Art and Design, and a Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design). Working for many years as a Graphic Designer, she has also continually sold her paintings in her spare time. Since the beginning of 2019, she decided to take her passion more seriously and practice everyday, became a member of MAVA (Melbourne and Victorian Artists), and regularly exhibits in exhibitions. Sandra enjoys experimenting with materials, styles and techniques, but always comes back to Acrylic on canvas. She creates realism, abstract and lately in-between with her underwater jellyfish themes. She is looking forward to continually growing and evolving as a painter. You can view more of her work through her website and social media pages.
