Artwork Description

The sea provides so many analogies to the ebbs and flows of life. It’s complex, stressful, dangerous, calming, beautiful and many times out of our control. I wanted to use different marks, depth and shapes to convey the unnerving time in the world at the moment, when the control and freedom we may have felt we had, has been taken away. How do we cope with that? What emotions do we go through. Does it bring us strength or test it? Artwork is signed on the front with a certificate of authenticity.

Artist Bio

Sandra has been painting since the age of 11, when she started painting classes after school. It was a love affair that has lasted for over 30 years. After concentrating on art and photography in high school, she then went on to study Art & Design for 5 years, earning an Advanced Certificate of Art and Design, and a Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design). Working for many years as a Graphic Designer, she has also continually sold her paintings in her spare time. Since the beginning of 2019, she decided to take her passion more seriously and practice everyday, became a member of MAVA (Melbourne and Victorian Artists), and regularly exhibits in exhibitions. Sandra enjoys experimenting with materials, styles and techniques, but always comes back to Acrylic on canvas. She creates realism, abstract and lately in-between with her underwater jellyfish themes. She is looking forward to continually growing and evolving as a painter. You can view more of her work through her website and social media pages.
