I am a painter of many different mediums. A sculptor, writer & adventurer, having back packed around 75 counties absorbing each countries art. I love primitive art. I have travelled in a bark canoe in piranha infested waters of the Amazon and lived deep in the Amazon jungle with an Indian tribe. I have trekked overland from Kathmandu to London taking ninety days, living in a two man tent, and sourcing my own food. I have climbed over glaciers in Alaska.
So I like to adventurous with my art too. I have just started putting my work into competitions.
I have a degree in ceramics, a diploma in art and have devoured hundreds of workshops.e
I love a challenge, a new medium, a new concept. I love textiles and mixed mediums. Much of my work is raised and textured on the canvas. I apply layer upon layer until the desired effect is reached. Some have resin effects, come have rust effects.
I love fireworks so my art tends to pop off the canvas, larger than life. I am a mere 148cm, but my art tends to be large. My sculptures are primitive, sometimes a little scary with the use of many things gathered from the forest; skins feathers and sometimes skulls. The heads handmade from pottery. The feathers are purchased and are pure and sterile.
My life has been a rich tapestry, intricately woven with colours and textures. I live in a semi rural property where wallabies ad sulphur crested cockatoos feed on my lawn. Kookaburras, magpies, currawong and many other species are fed on my back patio, with the huge Aussie gumtrees as a backdrop.
At the moment I am painted with iron paint, chemicals and water to create rust. Wearing goggles, gas masks and gloves to create a rust effect on canvas.
So much fun! But a bit dangerous...
