Artwork Description

Cat in the Spring is part of my ongoing series of animal portraits. In this piece, I depict a lovely calico cat surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms. Through this painting, I translate the intimate bond between humans and their pets into a poetic visual expression.

Artist Bio

Art is my way of sensing my own existence and perceiving the world, offering a space for sensitivity and vulnerability. During the process of making, narratives of life naturally emerge, giving voice to emotions, memories, and experiences that are difficult to express in words. Encounters between my inner world and the world around me create visions that feel both meditative and alive. When I paint, I feel as if the whole world is my sketchbook.

I am a painter with over a decade of experience and hold a Master of Fine Arts from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Since 2023, I have exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions, including at L27 Art Gallery, Queen Victoria Women’s Centre, No Vacancy Gallery, Brunswick Street Gallery, GALLERYGALLERY INC, and the Museum of Chinese Australian History. My graduate work has been recognised with the Yarra Branch Award from the Australian Decorative & Fine Arts Society.
