Artwork Description

I imagined golden clouds on a world, and asked how would the colours of that world be reflected. I used black quartz to simulate rocky terrain and imagined toxic gases covering the planet. The more toxic, the more beautiful the world would appear to be.

Artist Bio

Sara Elizabeth Joyce has lived many lives: Cyber Security Engineer, Senate Candidate, Writer, Poet, Filmmaker, Resin Artist, and Production Designer.

A self described cat-loving lesbian trans woman, she’s also a target shooter, passionate advocate for the homeless, and former press officer for both the Pirate Party and the Science Party.

Sara’s heritage is uniquely Australian and Irish from the time of the First Fleet, Indian from the pre-separation era, and German-Jewish from before World War II.
She draws inspiration not only from the richness of these cultural lineages but also from her own personal history, infusing her work with a deeply individual perspective, through a modern multicultural Australia.
