Artwork Description

This abstract piece is part of the 'Ache for the Home Land' series. The artwork is conveying an urge to travel back and reconnect to the land where I grew up, in Arctic Sweden. The longing for the environment and the land; the birches, the firtrees, the pine trees, lakes, spaces, elevations, and paths, both walked and not yet discovered. This urge started as a whisper but now it's an ongoing dull drumbeat saying I must, I must, I must.

Artist Bio

Explore. Experiment. Play.
That's how I work.
I am too restless and curious to keep with one theme and style. Ideas are feeding new ideas.

I love mixing materials and techniques. Painting and stitching, printmaking and cotton, clay and embroidery. Why not.

I am an Arctic Swedish/Australian artist with an art studio on a Macleay Island beach. It's a long way from the forests and lakes of the arctic, the midnight sun and the northern lights.
Is it possible to love where you are and ache for another place? It is.

I am creating because I simply need to and when I do, everything feels right and purposeful. I wish to make others feel when they have my art in their space, whatever that feeling might be. Feeling good, feeling hope, feeling inspired, filling your mind with ideas or my art might invite you to remember a time, person or place that is special to you.
