Sarah Bernard is a new artist from Western Australia.
Her love of art has been born from owning a home, and experiencing the impact of colour.
Her work consists of acrylic paint on canvas.
Sarah has dedicated the last 10 years to the sciences, holding a Bachelors degree in Science (Nursing).
Completing a Certificate of Visual Art in 2019, Sarah discovered her love of abstract colour; using bright, complimentary colours to bring vibrancy and warmth.
The theme explored in Sarah's work relates to her time as a Nurse; specifically the role of art, mindfulness and mental wellness.
The glitter she often uses began as a tool to amend her work. To recover a wrong brushstroke or too-liberal swirl of acrylic. Those mistakes now highlight her work, referencing the good to come out of bad. Seeing the growth of the person we are now because of the journey it takes to get us there.
Her work would best suit a neutral space, due to the vibrant nature of her pieces.
Taking a step back from Nursing; Sarah is excited to explore her 'voice' in abstract art. She hopes her pieces bring joy and beauty to those acquiring them.
Sarah lives with her husband, Sean, their two cats and two dogs.
