I am an artist originally from the misty green mountains of North Vancouver, Canada. I have lived in Australia for the last decade, revelling in the vibrancy of the colours and textures of the natural environment.
In my paintings I let the undefined worlds of emotion and energy translate themselves freely into the visual world. I explore this intuitive form of painting using a variety of mediums. The process begins with a feeling, working with instinct rather than concentrated thinking, allowing the painting to dictate it's own course, until it's multiple layers and colliding patterns suggest a completed work.
I'm also an illustrator represented by The Illustration Room working for a wide range of clients. My drawings, like my paintings, are full of expression, hand drawn and usually digitally coloured.
I graduated from the Enmore Design Centre in Sydney with an Advanced Diploma in illustration and graphic design in 2015, also winning the Illustrators Australia Award for Best Overall Portfolio.
I completed an artist residency in Finland in 2019 where I was able to fully immerse myself in my practice which was invaluable.
I held my first solo show, Destruction & Renewal, in February 2020. The works were inspired by the devastating bush fires in Australia that year, the inspiring way Australians banded together, and the renewal that began to emerge in the aftermath.
