Sometimes in life you just need to embrace the momentum and see where you end up.

As an artist not all works go to plan. With a new year of 2023 I wanted to embark on a new series that was figurative but of a more abstract nature with smaller repetative colour that melded a little more. However as I approached the beginning of the painting the motion was not forming the right figurative shape. So instead I chose to embrace where the painting was taking me and move forward with a traditional abstract piece. To let the story naturally take shape in a traditional abstract format. Afterall as in life sometimes you need to pivot and change direction, but always continue to move forward.

In the end the result was a delicious delight of colourful motion moving in different directions. A perfect reminder to follow the momentum of life and embrace change, new ideas, new starts and fresh inventions.

You will find my work is generally more abstract figurative in nature, but I often also delve back to painting straight abstract. In fact ,most years I create a new series for my portfolio, encompassing a different theme and style to other years. I love this fun freedom of being able to paint what comes naturally. To see what wonderful ride my imagination takes me on each series. This allows my true spirit to shine and create the right energy for each work I create. After all life is too short to be boring to paint the same style over and over, so lets jazz it up a bit!

Although my work is often a real statement piece capturing your senses with a stunning visual experience, I want you to experience more than just beauty. I want you to feel the story behind the strokes of paint. I want to take you on an emotional, connective journey with my arts powerful story. Afterall a piece that resonates with us reminds us just how alive we are and often my work is attached to a strong message.
