Artwork Description

There are 10 prints in this series at this size.
The print has a thin white border. Suitable for matt framing.
This print is a limited edition run of my painting, 'Finding Beauty' which was a finalist for the Kennedy Art Prize 2021.

This painting follows my genre of contemporary realism in which I capture evocative moments and the corporeal aesthetic defined by deep contrasts mixed with soft transitional tones. 'A Bloom of Dappled Lace' is part of my series of paintings involving the collaboration of figurative and a handheld fan, with each piece emulating a particular feeling or message. I aim to evoke curiosity behind my subjects, through the use of a carefully composed scene that captures the intricate light and shadow play. I encourage viewers to seek beauty, to take pleasure in details that may otherwise go unnoticed.

As an artist, Sarah has a deep and abiding interest in a wide range of subject matters. She brings a sense of curiosity and wonder to her art, constantly pushing the boundaries of her subject matter and technique. One of Sarah's defining traits as an artist is her fascination with small details, which she uses to create a rich and immersive world of sensory experience. Whether it's the delicate interplay of light and shadow on a surface, the intricate patterns and textures of a natural object, or the subtle expressions and movements of the human figure, Sarah has a keen eye for the minutiae of the world around her, often focus on the beauty of details, or moments that are fleeting or unnoticed. Through her art, she seeks to capture these tiny details and bring them to the forefront of the viewer's attention, drawing them into a world that is both real and imagined.

Her artistic practice is centered around contemporary realism, a genre that allows her to explore the human experience with a level of detail and nuance that is both challenging and rewarding. She is drawn to the way in which contemporary realism can capture the complexities of our lives and the world around us, creating powerful and evocative images that resonate with viewers on a deep and emotional level. Sarah believes that contemporary realism has the power to inspire, educate, and transform, and she is committed to pushing the boundaries of this genre in her own work.
