Labyrinth is an intuitive abstract made using palette knife with impasto medium and glazed with transparent pink (Rose Madder). This work has taken several months to complete, with layers being applied and left to dry, worked over and dried again. I allowed the knife to drive this piece, working the dark over the top as if in stained glass, leaving the lighter colours to become jewel-like when glazed over. Labyrinth will take you on a different journey every time you stop to gaze at it. This painting will glow underneath a spotlight or lamp.
