Artwork Description

On one of my holidays, I visited the cloisters and felt the quiet peace that its residents would enjoy. As I walked along the old stone steps, a soft breeze rustled the leaves on the tree making its shadows move playfully.

This inspired me to capture the stillness often disregarded in a world that values "busy-ness".

Artist Bio

I have enjoyed art as a child but my love for painting was sparked almost by accident. I moved to Hong Kong in 2007 with my husband, who gifted me with an oil painting set. I joined art workshops taught by UK artist Eleanor McColl. I found camaraderie and joy in painting with like-minded artists in these classes. This helped fuel my interest to continue drawing and painting. My mother was a Fine Arts graduate and an art teacher. My passion must have come from her but lay dormant as I studied and then pursued a career in commerce. My background in marketing, digital, social media and art have become an exciting mix of left brain, right brain use.

In 2010, I moved to Australia and discovered a new love, watercolour. I take pleasure in capturing mood and light in landscapes, hidden pathways, alleys, street corners and the beautiful wildlife and nature abundant in the country. I find inspiration when I travel or during weekend adventures.

My works are in private collections in Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, the Philippines, across the USA, and Australia.
