Artwork Description

In this painting which is part of a Body of work called The Seer, I explore the convergence of the celestial and the earthly, where ancient portals represent the internal pathway to our infinite nature. I am drawn to ancient sites and primordial landscapes which provoke a memory of lost wisdom. These sacred spaces are thresholds between dimensions, offering a bridge between the physical and the metaphysical, the known and the unseen.
Using colour and form, I invoke the energy of the natural world, the memory of earth formations, mountains and trees, bodies of water, the sky, sun and moon. It is in this space of creation that I touch upon the timeless, the infinite, and the sacred. My art becomes a conduit for deep reflection, where I am reminded of our origins and our true nature.

Artist Bio

Sascha’s practice includes exploring & photographing the landscape. The Sunshine Coast hinterland inspires her work, which is deeply rooted in the experience of living in the mountains, the rainforest and rolling green hills. It is the trees, rocks, and foliage of the rainforest in which she lives that particularly capture her eye. She spends time in her garden studio curating collections of bird’s nests, leaves, lichen, fungi, and river stones. Sketches emerge from a process of reflection which is then expressed as detailed still life or abstract paintings.
Her abstract paintings are intuitive, inspired by memories of ancient places, the Australian landscape, and natural life forms. These paintings are simultaneously a deep exploration of the earth and the cosmos as expressed through colour, pattern and form.
Sascha also enjoys painting still life, her subject ranging from fruit and foliage to pottery, and selected pieces of antique crockery. She also loves to draw with pen and ink particularly of interiors but also in the rainforest.
