Artwork Description

won't have it. The world is wilder than that in all directions, more dangerous and bitter, more extravagant and bright.
We are making hay when we should be making whoopee; we are raising tomatoes when we should be raising Cain, or Lazarus.
Go up into the gaps. If you can find them; they shift and vanish too. Stalk the gaps.
Squeak into a gap in the soil, turn, and unlock-more than a maple- a universe.
This is how you spend this afternoon, and tomorrow morning, and tomorrow afternoon. Spend the afternoon. You can't take it with you.

Artist Bio

Scarlet Emsworth is a visual artist who resides in a small coastal town in south Gippsland. She has established herself as a portrait painter for the last 10 years since completing a Degree in Visual Art at the Victorian College of the Arts. However, she regularly creates work from anything that inspires her.

“ My work comes from a place, a feeling or form that makes me feel at peace by it’s stillness. Something, that cannot be reached or touched by humans. My paintings are a way of being completely and comfortably alone, where the outside world cannot intrude. My aim is to create something that looks different each time it is watched, but inspires the viewer’s imagination to add on….allowing the scene to unfurl across the wall. I like using texture as it captures, holds and throws light, plus impasto is so satisfying to play with!”

All paints and mediums are high quality, finished with a Matt varnish ready to hang. They will stand the test of time.
