I am fascinated by the concept of living and interacting in the same buildings, streets, and parks as people from 100 years ago. Although Ashfield has changed so much since the 1920’s, there are still many things that stay the same. The Ashfield Main Street is a perfect example of this. Many of the original buildings remain, however the type of shops and business are so different. I have used bright, bold, colours and shapes to illustrate how I see Ashfield’s community, flora, and streetscape, whilst also conveying the colourful and rich history. The contrasting colours and shapes reflect the amazing diversity of our suburb.
