This work uses thinly painted layers to build up an image with depth and gravitas. The figure is floating, partly submerged, in a body of water that stretches past all the edges of the surface. Part of an ongoing series of works exploring depression and anxiety, this work shows a figure in the arrested motion and temporary loss of agency as the result of an existential crises.
