Mixed Media on wood, ready to hang.
Signed on the back.
The artwork is made using natural ochres from Walyunga National park at the source of the Swan River in Western Australia, exploring the natural identity of the place. The ochres are bound to the surface of the wood with a mixture of acrylic paint and binder medium, creating rough textural surface in the natural reds and yellow ochres. Several small prints and drawings of leaves and feathers are mounted onto this surface; a limited record of my encounters and observations while moving through the environment.
