Artwork Description

This Original Watercolour is inspired by the tarns of central Tasmania in the Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park. It has been painted using the finest Winsor and Newton artist quality watercolours on acid free 100% cotton rag paper.

Light is my constant companion and last light where water becomes liquid colour is just divine!

It comes unframed and will be shipped in a protective sleeve in a firm cardboard tube.

Artist Bio

Light and form excite me, from the natural landscape to the medium of watercolour on cotton rag. I paint in large format, with large brushes and lots of movement. I grew up in Tasmania with nature everywhere and went down the path of the old masters by apprenticing myself to a watercolour master Tony Smibert AM. He taught me from the age of 12 and mentored me intensely over a 1 year period in Deloraine in 2006. I have since found my own path and style. I am represented by galleries in Sydney (Articles Fine Art Gallery and Cronulla Gallery and Interiors) and in Tasmania (Huon Art, Strickland Gallery and Saddlers Court Gallery).

I love the medium of watercolour and how it behaves on the page. I also love to explore different possibilities with the unique medium of watercolour and from this have discovered the best processes to paint artist quality watercolours onto huge canvases. This is exciting and very unique.

All my paintings are done on the highest quality supports (paper/canvas) with artist quality paints (Winsor and Newton) or archival quality inks when printing limited edition prints.
