My name is Morderrwarr, and I am based on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.
I have been painting for over 25 years now and I've exhibited at Brisbane parliament house, CHOGM 2001, Goodwill games, Milpera state school (in support of young people of refugees and migrant backgrounds), and many other solo and combined exhibitions.
I started painting indigenous art when my children were very young, and so a lot of my artwork is based on teaching.
Paintings of butterflies, orcas, platypus, turtles, frogs, grass trees etc, illustrating life cycles and habitats, promoting respect for our precious flora and fauna.
Using bright vibrant colours in most paintings, I've try to combine Indigenous styles with Western.
My artwork has been displayed and sold on Didjeridus ,Didj bags, jigsaw puzzles, clothing as well as framed prints, at National Geographic, Australia Zoo, galleries in South Bank Brisbane, Sydney's Circular Quay.
I hope you appreciate my unique interpretation of my inspirations.
