This work is the result of a difficult time in my mental health. As a person with bipolar disorder, it can be difficult to express what I’m feeling.
This piece shows the conflict and mix of emotions as I watch from inside my own mind. The eyes capture the inner awareness of this struggle while the other elements of the face represent how mixed up and “warped” my emotions are.
This is contrasted with the inorganic shapes coming from within that are more representative of the logical aspect that comes with self awareness that this will pass and I will return to my more organised state.
