Artwork Description

This piece was born from the collision between fire and water — the restless meeting point between inner intensity and outward calm.

The left side carries heat, movement and emotion: reds, oranges, pinks and yellows pushing forward like memory, instinct and lived experience. The right side shifts into deep blues and flowing forms, suggesting water, release, distance and reflection. Together, the painting captures that moment where chaos begins to transform into clarity.

For me, this work represents personal reinvention — the feeling of moving through pressure, change and uncertainty, and finding a new rhythm on the other side. It is expressive, layered and instinctive, with each section carrying its own energy while still belonging to the whole.

In a room, this piece brings immediate warmth, colour and movement. It works beautifully as a statement piece above a console, sofa, dining area or office space. The warm tones create energy and confidence, while the blues balance the work with depth and calm. It is designed to lift a space without feeling decorative only — it has presence, emotion and conversation built into it.

Artist Bio

Sebastian Ross is an emerging Gold Coast-based artist whose work explores colour, movement, memory, and emotional atmosphere.

After many years working in real estate, hospitality, law, and client-facing industries, Sebastian brings a deeply human perspective to his art. His paintings are shaped by lived experience — the pressure of reinvention, the beauty of coastal life, the complexity of identity, and the quiet emotional landscapes that sit beneath everyday moments.

Sebastian’s work is expressive, intuitive, and layered. Rather than simply painting what is seen, he is interested in capturing what is felt: energy, nostalgia, resilience, uncertainty, hope, and transformation. His pieces often carry a strong sense of movement, using colour, texture, and composition to create works that feel alive on the wall.

Based on the Gold Coast, Sebastian draws inspiration from the contrast between coastal openness and inner reflection. His paintings are designed to bring warmth, character, and conversation into a space — whether that space is a private home, a beach house, an office, or a contemporary interior.

For Sebastian, painting is both creative release and storytelling. Each work represents a moment of instinct, emotion, and personal expression, inviting the viewer to find their own meaning within it.
