Artwork Description

Cool Melt explores perception as a shifting process rather than a fixed image. Initially the painting reads as a study of blended background and foreground surface and dissolution gradually revealing secondary forms embedded within the background—a canary and a girl with a ponytail emerge only through sustained looking. These abstracted, coloured silhouettes function less as narrative symbols of innocence than as perceptual residues, holding the tension between visibility and concealment. The playful abstract background shapes and colours complement the foreground creating a visual treat that is delicious and reminiscent of innocence, coastal summers and the flavoursome delights of eating ice cream. Meaning is not immediate, but accumulates through duration, attention, and return.

All my paintings are on professional-quality canvas, stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang. I use high-quality paint and mediums to maintain the beautiful colours and longevity of my art. Delivery is insured and professionally packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. The work is protected with a layer of glassine paper and a few additional layers of thick bubble wrap. Paintings are signed and dated on the back and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Bio

Sergio Paul Ianniello is a professional artist based in Brisbane, Australia. Figures and portraits within landscapes form the foundation of his work. Using acrylic paint for its versatility, he combines lively complementary colours to create luminosity, depth, and visual energy. His style is grounded in expressive realism with Fauvist influences. His most distinctive paintings incorporate pareidolic imagery within abstract forms, blurring the boundary between representation and imagination while reflecting the personal nature of perception.
Sergio's artistic process begins with a desire to create emotive and visually engaging images. Rather than starting with a fixed concept, ideas often emerge organically through the manipulation of shape, colour and composition. His paintings may range from quirky interpretations of cultural icons to reflections on beauty, transience, memory and aspects of the human psyche. Regardless of subject matter, his primary aim is to create a sense of connection and aesthetic enjoyment.
Sergio has received awards for his work, has exhibited in numerous Brisbane galleries and has been selected as a finalist in a range of art competitions. His paintings and drawings are held in private collections throughout Australia and internationally.
