Artwork Description

Beautiful Wrinkles is a deeply personal piece that celebrates the timeless majesty and emotional depth of elephants. I’ve always been captivated by the way their wrinkled skin tells a story. Every crease and fold feels like a chapter in a long, wise life. Using only charcoal, I aimed to capture not just the textures and tones of the elephant’s skin, but the quiet soulfulness in its eye which is a symbol of resilience, strength, and peace.

This artwork was created entirely with professional-grade charcoal pencils and powder on high-quality JA Dessin 1557 200gsm paper.

Beautiful Wrinkles is more than a portrait — it's a statement piece. It draws the viewer in with its bold presence and invites a sense of calm, grounding energy to any room. Whether hung in a modern space or a more earthy, natural setting, it creates a powerful focal point and a beautiful conversation starter. It’s a reminder to embrace age, character, and the stories etched into all of us.

Artist Bio

I am a multi medium artist from the Gold Coast. Through out my life, I have delved into a whole range of different mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpting, cake decorating, graphic design, web design, music production, 3D and digital art.

I am a passionate about realistic drawings, capturing the essence of subjects with depth and emotion. I have been drawing since I was a child and have sold countless commissioned portraits (https://serkanyener.art/artwork).

My artistic journey revolves around realism, using graphite and charcoal to explore intricate details and textures. I focus on achieving lifelike representations while maintaining a distinct conceptual approach that reflects my artistic vision. I especially enjoy exploring dualities and contrasts in my work, for example; old and young, mechanical and organic etc. These contrasts help convey complex themes, creating thought-provoking narratives and inviting viewers to reflect on the balance between seemingly opposing forces.
